29 Aug Contemplation in silence brings great rewards
If you take a look at some of the most successful and spiritual people in our time they all have one thing in common.
They took time out for themselves on a regular basis to focus on what was truly important…themselves.
When you take time for yourself what you are really saying is that you honour yourself and deserve some ‘me’ time. You’re not selfish for wanting ‘me’ time, in fact, your mind body and soul demands it.
OK…so I know we all live extremely busy lives with work, sport, relationships, playtime and our various other pursuits but when have you ever scheduled in ‘me’ time? I am also going to go as far as saying if you don’t have ‘me’ time you are not going to be clear about many things in your life and you may in fact end up resenting yourself or others and even becoming jealous of the fact that other people appear to have more than you or the life your wanting to have but can’t find a way to make it happen.
SILENCE is the start of connection. It is a space you go into that says I wish to reconnect with my inner voice and higher power. It is the space that allows your mind to relax, your body to release and your soul feel fulfilled.
SILENCE is powerful!
It is so powerful in fact that those who allow themselves to quieten the outside world to hear themselves think, feel and see feel more clarity, purposeful, resourceful, engaged, inspired and moved by life itself.
Some people find this super challenging and never make it past the first 30 seconds due to boredom or mind chatter. It takes time to allow yourself to reprogram into this space, especially if you are superman or superwoman spending days putting out spot fires instead.
Take your time. Start with 30 seconds, 1 minute & work your way up to 20-30 minutes daily where you sit in silence and allow yourself to release the past and embrace the present moment.
Reap these great rewards:
- Reduced levels of stress
- Higher sense of appreciation and gratitude
- Feel more consciously aware
- Feel more empowered to make decisions
- Find clarity not only in your day to day life but with decision making
- Feel a sense of freedom
- Feel more connected to people in your life
- Increased levels of happiness
- Increased levels of self-esteem and confidence
- New sense of direction
- Increase in patience
Don’t get me wrong…this could all go AWOL if you let it.
If you are more inclined to be thinking about ways this could not work, or take the contemplation in silence time as an opportunity for you to focus on challenges, hurt or pain that you have been experiencing, then your focusing on the past not on your present or your future. It may be time for you to consider what you really want out of life.
Over time, if you set your intention to focus on what you want out of life, rather than what you do not want, then you will see your life change in miraculous ways. You will not only reap initial physical and symptomatic rewards you will notice a deeper sense of belonging.
During these silent times you may also start to notice you receive messages from your guides, loved ones, the universe to assist you and feel more clarity around your life path, work decisions and personal relationships.
If you can find time to sit and have a cup of coffee you have time to sit down for active contemplation daily about your life and start to journal your findings you will begin to embrace a life filled with inspiration and realise anything you dream is possible.
If I can retrain myself then any body can.
Life is short…make every second count.
Yours in spirit,
